Cyprus Sunshine Cup in Voroklini had a pretty good start into this years edition. Mountainbike riders out of around 30 different nations on a warm and sunny day were taking part in the cross country race. Annika Langvad from Denmark and Karl Markt from Austria were grabbing the victories in the European mountainbike season opener.

The second round of Cyprus Sunshine Cup takes place in the Macheras Mountains, at the recreational venue Mantra tou Kampiou near Kapedes. The three days Afxentia mountainbike stage race has started with a time trial, which went to Annika Langvad (Den) and Jan Skarnitzl (Cze).

The second round of Cyprus Sunshine Cup takes place in the Macheras Mountains, at the recreational venue Mantra tou Kampiou near Kapedes. Second day of Afxentia stage race for mountainbikers on a 44,7 kilometer loop leads through the beautiful mountains in the centre of Cyprus. It‘s open for fun riders, too. The edition 2011 was taken by Annika Langvad (Den) and Karl Markt (Aut).

The second round of Cyprus Sunshine Cup takes place in the Macheras Mountains, at the recreational venue Mantra tou Kampiou near Kapedes. On third and final day of international Afxentia mountainbike stage race the participants have to ride a cross country race on a 5,5 kilometer lap. Fun riders are allowed to take part. Stage win 2011 went to Blaza Klemencic (Slo) and Jaroslav Kulhavy (Cze), the overall to Lene Byberg (Nor) and Karl Markt (Aut).

The Cyprus Marathon event in Pafos offers three distances to compete. On an almost flat course the runners can choose 10 kilometer, 21 kilometer half marathon or the real marathon distance of 42,195 kilometer. The long distance starts from Petra tou Romiou, the birthplace of goddess Aphrodite on the coast line.
